It is so hard to believe that the big day is just about here. There is still so much to do and so little time to do it. I found I nearly made a huge mistake with cutting out the material for my dress and my matron of honor suit. Yes still haven't got it done but just as well. Had laid the pattern pieces in different directions. Normally wouldn't matter but it is satin. So that was a big bonus to find that out in time. So will be sorting out tomorrow to bring home to make and also cutting out suit for going away in. Just managed to get the pattern on what I had. Not sure how I am going to dress my matrons dress as we are both wearing white. The men will be all in black with white ties. It looks good too. Have flowers to make and veil to dress also which arrives sometime this week.

My how time flies. Its a week now since last on and loads have happened. I have had two funerals over the weekend and completed a kete noho. Can safely say am comfident to complete a kete on my own now. It has been a very busy time for me and my wedding is drawing ever closer. Counting down the weeks at the moment. Soon will be counting down the days. Still havn't made my dresses as material is coming and now trying to source an overlocker to make up the clothes with. Will be making our puti puti soon so can dry and be ready for dying. I learnt how to make some real easy ones at noho and the other students are doing some too for me. That will be a great help but will be making mine myself for our bouquets.

What a day so far. Hopefully I might get a look in at a job I applied for today. Still didn't get all my things done I wanted but there is always next week or maybe Saturday if get free moment after funeral service. It is raining at present so I'm having some quiet time.

On the hop

Well I haven't had chance since Sunday to get on and I wonder why, well I have been on the hop so to speak. I have been trying to catch up on my mahi for my raranga class. Unfortunately got stuck with a minor detail so will have to finish that at later date. Today I had a harvest for our noho this weekend. Spent most of the day doing that and it was great just to get into a beautiful clean pa harakeke to cut. I then find out that another member of our church has passed away this morning but I was expecting her to go, it was just a matter of the waiting game. Her service is Saturday, which means I will really be a busy bee 'buzz buzz' and probably totally worn out by the end of the weekend. Don't usually get that much sleep on a noho. Have to try catch some zzzzzzzzz inbetween the sleeping choir 'haha'.

Its a sad day

Its a sad day today for me. A member of our church passed away on Saturday night. She was very sick but has now gone to be with our Heavenly Father. I will always remember her for her endurance, her beautiful hand crafts she taught us and for her lovely spirit she so freely shared.
Here service will be on Friday. I feel honored to be able to sing for her and her family who will be there to celebrate the life she had with all who attend the service.
We all must go back to where we came from and that is the presence of our Heavenly Father. Her husband will be happy to have her company as he has waited a long time.
Will be going out today to shop for essentials to cater for the many friends she has made in her life here.

It's a new day

Today is a great new day. Have completed my first real kete as my first one was just for practise. It feels really great to accomplish this and I can't wait till I can gift to a dear Sister who has done so much for me in the past. I know she will appreciate my handy work. Can't wait to finish number two which is waiting in the wings and complete the rest of my assignments. Lots of hard work but in the end it is worth it.
